For each of the workshops you attend you will receive Learning Power Certification, qualifying you to tutor these skills to Learning Power students, using Learning Power materials in your instruction.

Utilizing the David Ellis model, particpants are trained to teach effective learning skills to high school and college students. Included in the 1 day training are learning style assessments, organization, test-taking, memory, note-taking, and other study techniques, and the Ellis Power Processes.

Reading Effciency, a.k.a. "Speed Reading"

More and more students are coming to Learning Power requesting help in reading more quickly, often because of the volume of reading that is required in their studies. Others are in need of improving their performance on standardized tests (especially those unable to finish the SAT's!)

How to Tutor! "The Power of One-on-One"

There are special techniques in tutoring one-on-one! Even classroom teachers admit that there are certain skills that are needed when they meet students individually. The three-hour workshop includes tips for establishing a relationship, assessing students in their manner of learning, parent and teacher contact and communication, and responding to educational testing.

SAT Critical Reading and Writing Training

Participants will learn sentence completion, passage reading, and vocabulary techniques. These techniques will help tutors and instructors to prepare students for the verbal portions of both the SAT and ACT tests.
