Diagnostic Testing

Learning Power conducts full-scale Diagnostic Testing for the SAT, ACT, SSAT, and PSAT exams. These Diagnostic Tests can pinpoint areas of strength and weakness, and help students better prepare for their actual tests. For first-time test takers, these Diagnostic Tests are invaluable tools to help reveal areas of concern where students would benefit from additional training.

Students receive their Diagnostic Test results within one week, complete with a thorough analysis of their performance. Diagnostic Tests are scheduled year-round by arrangement.

Test Prep Classes

Learning Power's SAT Test Prep classes include 32 hours of instruction, testing, review, analysis, and practice. Skilled instructors help students understand SAT strategies, practice successful test-taking techniques, learn time management skills, and much more.

Classes cover all three areas of the SAT: Writing, Critical Reading, and Math. Students learn how to write compelling essays, while reviewing proper English grammar and vocabulary. Students also study and practice new techniques to improve their reading comprehension of SAT passages. All Math concepts appearing on the SAT are reviewed, and students practice on real SAT questions. Learning Power conducts pre-instruction and post-instruction tests to measure students' improvement.

Learning Power's SAT Test Prep classes are held all months of the yar except June and July. They are scheduled for maximum impact, concluding just prior to students' actual SAT Test dates. September - May classes are held on Saturday and Sunday, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, August classes are held Monday - Thursday, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at Learning Power's Avon Riverdale Farms location. Designed for 11th and 12 grade students, these classes are in high demand, and seating is strictly limited to 8 students to insure individual attention.

One-On-One Tutoring

Learning Power has many friendly, skilled tutors who provide individually tailored coaching and training for SAT, ACT, SSAT, and PSAT exams. All tutoring includes an initial assessment of learning styles and problem areas, and tutors develop a prescriptive plan of action for each student. Flexible scheduling, one-on-one attention, targeted instruction, and knowledgeable tutors combine to give your student the most focused preparation possible.

One-on-one tutoring is ideal for students who have specific problem areas or special needs, or for students who prefer the privacy and intimacy of individual sessions. Tutors and students review test-taking strategies, useful tips, important test content, time management, and more.
